Peaches and Plums Fill the World: I-Hsiung Ju in America

In celebration of the exhibition Chinese Master Artist I-Hsiung Ju the Millennium Gate Museum had organized the event called: "Peaches and Plums Fill the World: I-Hsiung Ju in America".

On Saturday September 12, 2015 at 2:00 PM, Turner McGehee, former chair of the Hastings College Art Department, and Michael Kopald, an expert ink brush artist, spoke of their experiences with I-Hsiung Ju, the teacher, the artist, the mentor, and the unifier of people. Michael Kopald also gave a demonstration on East Asian ink brush painting.

On Sunday September 13, 2015 at 2:00 PM, Dr. Carolyn Bloomer, emeritus professor at Ringling College of Art and Design, joined McGehee and Kopald and spoke of her experience with I-Hsiung Ju, placing a special emphasis upon Ju's calligraphy.

"JOURNEY HOME" An exhibition of W&L Emeritus Professor I-Hsiung Ju's Yangtze River brush painting series and his scroll painting series of Huangshan Mountain.

Logistics of the Yangtze River brush painting: 16-panel scrolls are 108" high, total 72 feet long; height of painting is 27", width of each scroll is 54".

Logistics of the Huangshan Mountain brush painting: 18-panel scrolls are 76" high, total 40.5 feet long; height of painting is 52", width of each scroll is 27".

Twelve scroll paintings of flower, bird, and landscape of Chinese artist I-Hsiung Ju were on display at RomAsia Bank's new branch at 561 US 1 South, Edison, NJ 08817 (in the Wick Shopping Plaza at the corner of Route 1 South & Plainfield Avenue) The paintings were available for viewing during regular bank hours.

An exhibition of selected art works from the "Retrospective Exhibit" of Chinese artist I-Hsiung Ju were on display at the Ju Painting Studio, 35 Sycamore Place, in Princeton (Kingston Village, Route 27), NJ.

Reception was on September 13, 2008, Saturday, 5 p.m. - 7 p.m.

The exhibit continued to be opened to the public every afternoon from September 14 through 25, from 2 p.m. - 6 p.m., Other times were by appointment only.

In this show, Prof. Ju exhibited an array of art work from his "Retrospective Exhibit" that was held last year (2007) in October in Taipei. On exhibit at the Kingston studio were five panels of his new 16-panel 72 feet-long Yangtze River brush painting, and selected art work done in the past 65 years of his 85 years of life, while he was living in China, the Philippines, and in the United States. These included graphic, pastel, pencil, watercolor, charcoal, painted ceramics, oil, acrylic, and Chinese brush calligraphy, done between 1942 and 2007.
